For a more care-free, peaceful holiday then try the island of Fuerteventura which has some spectacular beaches to be discovered and an abundance of lovely restaurants and bars. If water sports are your thing then again Fuerteventura is your best bet as it’s also home of the yearly wind surfing finals held in Jandia.
Both El Hierro and La Palma are pretty much unmarked by tourism, and the island of La Gomera seems to be the next up and coming island for tourism and well worth a visit.

There is nothing like a very cold spell to focus your attention on next years holiday, but if the wintery weather has got you shivering then now is an ideal time to curl up by a traditional log fire and start planning next years holiday.
Holidays in Lanzarote are appealing to a variety of age groups because this popular Canary Island offers great weather and wonderful beaches - as well as excellent value for money.

Lanzarote is a real beach lover’s paradise. There are close to 100 great beaches to explore and nearly all of them boast golden sands rather than the black grains prevalent elsewhere in the Canaries on islands including neighbours such as Tenerife. There are also of course some superb stretches of sands in all of the three main resorts on the island. And if that doesn’t rock you then make sure to explore the many creations of César Manrique, the well known local artists who worked with this surreal terrain to create some unique visitor attractions such as the Cactus Garden and the Jameos del Agua.

The Four Seasons On Lanzarote
Whilst many people may be familiar with the Canary Islands as one of Europe’s most reliable winter sun destinations, they may not be aware that the archipelago enjoys distinct seasons throughout the year. This is hardly surprising, as nearly every holiday destination has distinct seasons and weather patterns, which often dictate when people visit.
Of the seven islands that make up the Canary Island group, Lanzarote is the driest, as it’s easterly orientation makes it the furthest from the weather fronts that come in from the Atlantic Ocean. It also has less precipitation because its highest points are still well short of the thousand metre level that normally accumulates clouds.
Visitors who intend to visit Lanzarote during the winter will find that if there is any likelihood of rain, it is most likely to fall in February, although isolated grey days can occur in January and March as well.
